Bangkok’s most popular location ranked by the number of new units sold during 2017 has been named.

Thailand’s Agency for Real Estate Affairs (AREA), in its twice-yearly seminar covering the entire Bangkok Metropolitan property market, provided more than 800 pages of statistics and detailed information.

One of the fascinating charts it revealed, based on its comprehensive and thorough market surveys, ranked Bangkok location by number of sold units in specific price ranges.

Top of the list – and Bangkok’s most popular location for property buyers and investors in 2017 – was the Sukhumbit-Rama IV area in the centre of the city.

In the condominium sector with prices between THB 5 million and THB 10 million, more units (2,932) were sold in this location that property in any other part of Bangkok.

Ranked second was Phayonothin’s THB 3 million to THB 5 million condo sector, where some 2,469 new units were sold during 2017.

Third was Rachayothin’s THB 3 million to THB 5 million sector where 2,315 units condo units were sold last year.

These three locations combined represented 7.4 percent of all new property sold throughout Bangkok during 2017.

For new condo units prices between THB 10 million and THB 20 million, it was the Sukhumvit-Rama iV location that headed this price bracket with 994 units sold last year.

This location and price together was ranked 13th in the list of Bangkok’s most popular location combined with price range.

AREA data is, as far as ThailandProperty.News is concerned, the most thorough and independent data available covering the whole of Bangkok’s property market. Other agency research reports are useful but do not cover the entire spectrum of property across the entire Bangkok metropolitan region.

The Agency also provides occasional press release as well as regular, paid research products for real estate agents and developers.
