EXCLUSIVE: British property developer The Berkeley Group will become the first to open an office in Thailand today.
The office and permanent property showcase, on the second floor at St. Regis Hotel, has been in place since earlier this year, and will be officially opened today (Wednesday).
Alexandra Chan, Senior Business Development Manager for The Berkeley Group, told ThailandProperty.News that the office, the first permanent office for any British developer in Thailand, will service future and existing clients of its London properties.
The Berkeley Group, and its subsidiaries, have regularly showcased London properties in Bangkok for a number of years.
The Group is made up of six autonomous companies: St George, St James, Berkeley, St Edward, St William and St Joseph.
It is publicly-owned and listed on the London Stock Exchange. The Group has built more than 19,000 homes during the past five years.
This week’s Bangkok office opening will provide the developer’s existing clients with a local office and local staff to liaise with.
It is the group’s fifth office in Asia, following openings in Singapore, Hong Kong, Shanghai and Beijing.
This constant presence in Thailand will serve as more competition for Bangkok’s high-end property developers, with investors now having more choice for their next property investment without leaving the city.
