Following yesterday’s news focusing on where Thais are buying overseas, we can now reveal which overseas buyers in the ASEAN region are most focused on Thai property and real estate.
This valuable knowledge for Thailand property developers and real estate agents can go a long way to defining a fact-based and up-to-date marketing strategy.
More than 600 ASEAN property professionals were questioned at the recent ARENA (ASEAN Real Estate Network Alliance) event at the end of last month in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Which nation in ASEAN is buying Thailand property?
In what will come as a big surprise to most, Myanmar was ranked as the top nation for buying Thailand property, with 35 percent of the share of replies. In second place with 19 percent, and less surprising were Singaporeans, while Malaysians were ranked third with a healthy 17 percent.
Malaysia has long been a challenging destination for selling Thai property however, in recent months we’ve seen more projects from Thailand being offered for sale at Thai property shows in Kuala Lumpur.
Myanmar is also seeing Thai property shows, although in far fewer numbers. That said, and as reported by ThailandProperty.News last week, one Singapore agency has jumped on this trend by taking Thai properties to Yangon.
