The Government Housing Bank (GHBank) has offered more than THB 100 billion in home loans during the first six months of the year.
This, it said, was in accordance with the Thai government’s policy to elevate the quality of life of low-income citizens.
GHBank President Chatchai Sirilai (pictured) reported the state-run bank issued a record THB 105.4 billion in home loans during the first six months of 2018.
That equates to 53 percent more than during the same period last year.
Credit was issued to more than 85,200 accounts, of which some 50,000 accounts had loan amounts under two million baht.
During the second half of the year, GHBank said that it will target three groups of clients; low-income earners, new families and the elderly.
It will also advance its digital services to meet lifestyle demands of the so-called 4.0 era.
This includes offering a mobile application, GHB ALL, which will allow clients to access all of the bank’s services.
The app will be available in the third quarter of this year.
