SG agency to market Bangkok in Myanmar

If you’re a Bangkok real estate agent, this should make you mad. A Singapore-based real estate agency will be hosting sales events for two Bangkok developments in Myanmar.

Does this mean real estate agents in Thailand are not capable of handling overseas property events?

SQFT Global Properties are set to organize Bangkok property exhibitions in Yangon and Mandalay this coming weekend, featuring Muniq (pictured) and Marque, both located close to Sukhumvit.

Hnin Ei Lwin, Head of Myanmar operations for SQFT, said: “We are mainly targeting Myanmar nationals who are willing to own properties abroad.

“More and more people are visiting Bangkok for many reasons. Most people go there for leisure while many are on business trips and some, for medical treatment. Many of them prefer long stay. So, we hope to play a part in making their dreams come true,” she added.

The firm had targeted sales of at least 20 condos at the two events where prices for units at the two projects will start at THB 14 million.

SQFT is no stranger to the Myanmar market and two months ago it introduced Whizdom 101 apartments from Bangkok to Yangon buyers and investors.

Do you think Bangkok real estate agencies lack to skills to market new launches overseas, hence a Singapore agency has recognized a business opportunity? The prospect of losing many millions of baht in potential commission must be a worry. Have your say.
