A Thai house that was moved to the other side of the world will form part of the first five-star hotel to reopen after devastating hurricanes in the Caribbean last year.

Anguilla’s Zemi Beach House Hotel & Spa, a luxury boutique hotel on the Caribbean island’s world-famous Shoal Bay Beach, will be the first five-star hotel to reopen next month.

“We are elated to announce that Zemi Beach House Hotel & Spa will reopen in February after the challenges of Hurricane Irma,” said Jeff Goldstein, the proprietor of development company Fountain Beach Residence.

He added” “We’ve completed restoration of any damages that the property sustained, and have returned the hotel and spa to their award-winning five-star status.”

Repairs made at the property include the restoration of the 300-year-old Thai House Spa, an authentic Thai rice barn that has been transformed into a luxury spa, and has been crowned the jewel of Zemi Beach House.

The Zemi Thai House Spa, located in the authentic Thai house, was transported almost 10,000 miles from Thailand in the 1980s.

It boasts Anguilla’s first House of Wellbeing, with a heated gobek tasi, sun deck, outdoor showers and vitality pool.
